The statement read in parts: “NECSOB is saddened by the news of rape, murder and abuse by a staff of the INTERSOS Humanitarian Organisation, who has been suspended after the incident.
“The NECSOB through its legal department have sent a team of experts for preliminary investigations into the matter and our team were able to interact with the family of the deceased.
“It is against this background that NECSOB is issuing this preliminary report to provide more clarity into the matter as against the information that is widely in circulation.
“NECSOB discovered that the victim did not commit suicide, she was raped and stabbed to death by the perpetrator.”
