Hon. Jafaru Gambo Leko, the House of Representative Member for Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency, has taken a significant step in fulfilling his campaign promises by empowering 325 farmers with essential farm inputs.
Representing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Leko distributed the items on Saturday in Bogoro, aiming to enhance local agricultural productivity and livelihoods.
During the distribution ceremony, Leko emphasised that this initiative is crucial in supporting local farmers and providing them with the necessary resources to boost agricultural activities.
This move, he noted, aligns with his commitment to fighting poverty and fostering rural development through practical support.
Represented by Abdulrashheed Ahmed Muazu, a member of the state assembly for Tafawa Balewa, Leko highlighted the impact of this empowerment effort on the constituency’s agricultural sector.
The distributed items included 100 water pumps, 100 farm sprayers, 100 organic liquid fertilisers, and 25 grinding machines.
“Farm inputs are vital in improving food security by enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability,” Leko stated.
He urged beneficiaries to utilise the inputs effectively and avoid selling them.
He encouraged everyone to engage actively in farming to boost food production in the region.
Alhaji Alhassan Sadiq, chairman of the occasion, commended Leko’s empowerment initiative, advising patience to those who have not yet benefited, as more programmes are forthcoming.
Mr. Rabiu Garba, APC legal officer and stakeholder in the constituency, also praised Leko’s efforts, thanking party members for their support during the ceremony.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Rejoice Gideon, expressed her gratitude for the support, highlighting how the water pump machine would significantly improve irrigation systems and help cultivate drought-resistant crops.
The distribution ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the APC chairmen of Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas, marking a significant step towards agricultural enhancement in Bauchi State.
