Akor noted further that, the decision to bestow this title upon Chief Obande Williams Obeya was not taken lightly, but after a meticulous vetting process, the Council of Chiefs of the Idoma Area Traditional Council unanimously agreed that Chief Obande’s contributions to the prosperity and well-being of the Idoma people were undeniably deserving of such a distinguished honour.

“Chief Williams Obande, known for his humility, has consistently eluded media attention despite his significant contributions to his community, which have had a resounding impact on the entire Idoma nation.
“Beyond attending to the immediate needs of his people, he has quietly influenced the younger generation with vocational training interventions, where many have discovered and pursued their aspirations.
“This also encompasses ongoing contributions to orphanages and widows in Idomaland, community outreach efforts, and the opening of roads to enhance accessibility.
“Driven by his deep empathy for the disadvantaged, he has extended his support to mother-and-child hospitals in an effort to reduce maternal mortality rates, and also provided high vest customised uniforms for all Okada riders to distinguish them from criminal elements in the society.
“Furthermore, his commitment to education has led him to provide scholarships to less privileged students at various educational stages. He firmly believes that without an improved quality of life for these individuals, the very fabric of society is at risk.” Akor adds.
The title of Owujoi K’Idoma, now graces Chief Obande Williams Obeya, serving as a testament to his substantial impact on the development and upliftment of the Idoma people and their kingdom.
