The family of 67 yrs old Alhaji Adamu Babanta deceased petition Commissisioner of Police (CP) Bauchi Command Mr Umar Sanda for compromising a murder case before the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Our correspondent reports that the Police Command in Bauchi arrested traditional title holder, Alhaji Mohammmed Damina, (Galadiman Dass) for alleged murder of 67 years old Alhaji Adamu Babanta in a fatal motor accident.
The letter of the petition against Bauchi CP Umar Sanda, Ahmed Buba and Livinus Emmanuel for compromising investigation on the killing of Babanta by Damina cry for help and timely intervention made available to Newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.

The Counsel of the family of the deceased Alkassim Muhammad Esq alleged that compromising the investigation by charging the suspect with an accident case instead of intentional killing thereby releasing him.
In a petition dated 31st October 2022 and copied to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, the Chief Judge, Bauchi State, Inspector General of Police (IGP) the Director State Security Services, Bauchi, the Human Right Commission.
The family requested the Police Service Commission to suspended CP Sanda and two other police officers in handling the case for being compromised, and further also seeks the responded should be investigated by the commission to secure Justice for the deceased and his family.
“The petition reads, “On the 31st day of October, 2022 a formal complaint with a caption: Complaint Against one Galadiman Dass and other Unidentified Conspirators for Alleged Intentional killing of Malam Adamu Babanta and Indecent Assault of Kadija:
“Case for immediate intervention and the Need to Transfer the Case to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria for Proper Investigation was written to the office CP Umar Sanda Commissioner
of Police and as at the time CP Sanda was out of the state for official duty.”
“The earlier complaint dated 31st October,2022 was either not treated nor given prominence attention by the 1st respondent. To justify the above assertion:
The family further disclosed that 2nd respondent SP Ahmad Buba on the 31st October, 2022 has confirmed to the counsel to the deceased and some of of the deceased family that he was able to stand on his position during their normal briefing to justify that the suspect case is not a case of accident but a case of intentional killing.
“Notwithstanding the above facts, the 1st respondent directed profiling and incidenting accident case against the suspect in order to make his case softer and triable by inferior courts
Responding, CP Sanda said that Galadiman Dass knocked down someone with his vehicle.
“We are suspecting that he deliberately hit the deceased with his vehicle. We are informed that the deceased is his friend.
The Commissioner explained, “Interim investigation suggests that the case is an accident case hence investigation is on-going.
“Right now, the suspect is on administrative bail after being detained for seven (7) days on court order because he was seriously sick and the matter has been charged to pending being assigned to a court of competent jurisdiction.” CP Sanda said.
