FG installs 730 solar streetlights, construct 100 houses units in Adamawa
Federal Government has installed 730 solar streetlights across institutions and rural communities in Adamawa state in its efforts to enhance the delivery of social services to Nigerians.
Malam Aminu Sambo the Federal Controller of Housing in charge of the state, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Monday.

According to him, 200 units of solar poles has been installed at the premises of the Moddibo Adama University(MAUN), 200 at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), 100 at the Federal College of Education (FCE) all in the Yola metropolis.
He said another 200 had been installed in Hong and 100 in Numan Local Government Areas, adding that the palace of Lamido of Adamawa had also being provided with the 30 units of the facility.
The controller added that the palaces of emirs of Mubi, Guyuk, Shellang, Ganye and Numan had been provided with twenty each of the electrical gadgets while 50 each had been installed at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi and state polytechnic in Yola.
He added that under the National Housing Programme (NHP), 100 houses of different capacities had been constructed in different parts of the state while another 100 had reached 75 completion stage in the first phase of the programme.
“Additional 150 housing units would be constructed in Mubi town and we offer the houses for sales to interested qualified Nigerians,” he said.
He said the completed residential houses had been provided with access roads, electricity, culverts, waterways and industrial boreholes, to make them more habitable for their potential occupants.
He said the Special Project Unit of the agency had executed 4 Kilometres of township roads in Yola North and Numan Local Government Areas and drilled 100 units of motorised boreholes across the 20 existing local government areas in the state.
