Fight terrorism professionally with humility to restore peace in Northeast – Commander

The Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Maj-Gen. Gold Chibuisi has charged troops to fight terrorism professionally with humility to restore peace in the Northeast.
According to him, the non-kinetic approach comprises 75 percent of the counter-insurgency operations in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region.
Chibuisi tasked the troops on Thursday while decorating the promoted five Colonels to the higher rank of Brigadier Generals at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.

Three other officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Immigration and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), were also promoted from Deputy Superintendent to the next rank of Superintendents.
“Your promotions to higher ranks are rewards for hard work in the frontlines of theatre of war,” he said, adding that their mindsets should be a transit to higher level of fighting terrorism and banditry in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
He further charged that the promoted Army and other officers to refine their minds and become leaders of restoring peace.
Speaking on welfare of soldiers, he said the promoted officers should adopt humility, empathy and patience, while taking decisions that affect troops’ welfare.
He, therefore, urged them to show concern on each and every soldier in boosting their moral, while restoring peace in the region.
The promoted army officers to the rank of Brigadier Generals, included MA Abdullahi, OO Owolabi, MA Kana, EN Akpan and M Muhammed, while Abubakar Sadik Jauro, Abdullahi Yusuf and Adam Baba Goni of the Immigration, NCS and Civil Defense were respectively promoted to the higher rank of Superintendent.
