Flood has ravaged the military base in Malam Fatori, North-East of Borno state.
Malam Fatori lies close to Komadougou Yobe river and the shores of Lake Chad by Abadam and sharing border with Chad and the Niger Republic.
The flood menace has added to the harsh desert conditions which the soldiers are braving under to battle the Islamic State fighters.

The Troops in the town are known for their remarkable bravery in resisting persistent attacks from Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters who are deploying various types of weapons including improvised explosive devices, mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and gun trucks.
Zagazola understands that several weeks into the floods, hundreds of residents in the area especially Internally Displaced Persons, are struggling to find shelter, food and clothing with many settling in an open ground under appalling conditions.
Most parts of the town are largely inaccessible because of the floodwater.
