FMHADMSD hands over recovery need items for IDPs in Borno

Borno State Government has received Recovery needs items for IDPs from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHADMSD) through the NEMA to complement the efforts of the state government as part of the special intervention fund approved in 2019 by Mr President.
The items are for the returned refugees from Cameroon, Chad, and Niger who are accommodated in (12)Camps across the state. The items received which consists of clothing materials of 75,600 pieces, clothing materials for both men and women 72,000 blankets,19,200 pieces of polythene mats as well as relief materials among others were supplied to the NEMA stores in Maiduguri.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Borno State Governor, the State Deputy Governor H.E Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur said that the support came at the right time and will go along in assisting the IDPs and will be distributed judiciously for the purpose intended.
The Deputy Governor commended the federal government and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster management and social development for the usual and timely intervention of relief materials and other requirements for IDPs in Borno State assuring that the Borno state government would not relent in its effort in ensuring that all IDP’S are returned to their ancestral homes as well as the restoration of total peace in the state.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and social development the permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Bashir Alkali who represented the minister assure of the Ministry’s continued support and assistance to the state government and called for the judicious distribution of the items to the 12 IDP Camps.
The deputy Governor was accompanied during the occasion by was Chief of Staff to H.E the Executive Governor Prof.Isa Marte Hussaini, a Member of the state executive council, Special Advisers, Senior Special assistants, Special assistants, top government functionaries among others.
