The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) , General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of the Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy to Borno State Governor, Mallam Isa Gusau at an Indian hospital.
In a statement signed by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the CDS said :”his death is a personal loss to me having known and related very well with the deceased during my tour of duty as Theatre Commander, Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, Borno State. There was no doubt that late Mallam Isa Gusau deployed his warm disposition, sharp mental acuity, and persuasive communication skills to impact positively on the relationship between the state government and the citizenry in the crisis-hit Borno state.”
General Musa added that “Above all, his passion for the improved media relations between the military and the good people of Borno state will never be forgotten. It is on record Malam Isa Gusau served two successive Borno State Governments meritoriously. He will certainly remain a referents point for many years to come. He was personable and indefatigable.”
“I commiserate with his immediate family, relations,friends and indeed the media world over this bereavement which has sparked off torrents tributes from far and near. My heart particularly goes out to the Vice President, H. E. Kashim Shettima, GCON, as well as the governor of Borno State, H.E Professor Babagana Zulum, and the people of Borno and Zamfara States respectively.
General Musa observed that “Humanity has indeed lost a rare gem, but we are consoled by the fact that he lived a highly productive, impactful, and fulfilled life that is worthy of emulation. We pray that God will comfort his family in these trying times.”
