General Saraso Urged Newly Promoted Officers to Uphold Excellence
The Nigerian Army’s 1 Division has celebrated the promotion of several officers, marking a major feat in their careers.
The investiture ceremony, held at the Division Officers Mess in Dalet Barracks, Kawo, Kaduna State, was attended by officers, staff, family members, and well-wishers of the newly promoted officers.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso congratulated the officers on their well-deserved elevation. He charged them to remain loyal, disciplined, and dedicated to their duties, emphasizing that their actions and inactions would be documented and treated appropriately. “The journey in the Armed Forces is not about how far but how well you perform,” General Saraso noted.
The newly promoted officers include Major YB Yerima of 1 Military Intelligence Brigade, Major AA Abdullahi of 1 Division Finance and Accounts, Major MB Mohammed of Command Secondary School Kaduna, Captain BC Ewoo, Aide-de-Camp to the GOC, and Sub Lieutenant IS Mamza, a Naval Officer serving at Headquarters Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA. Their promotions recognize their dedication, excellent performance, and achievements in the Nigerian Army and Navy.
In his vote of thanks, Major YB Yerima expressed gratitude to God Almighty, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, and the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, for considering them for promotion. He also thanked General Saraso for his leadership and the families of the promoted officers for their unwavering support.
General Saraso’s words of advice were echoed by senior officers present, who urged the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts and justify the confidence reposed in them. The event concluded with group photographs, marking a new chapter in the officers’ careers. This development reaffirms the Nigerian government’s commitment to equipping the Armed Forces with necessary resources and support.
