Gombe: Governor Yahaya Celebrates Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s Centenary Milestone
The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has felicitated with the renowned Islamic cleric and spiritual leader of Tijjaniyya, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, on the occasion of his 100th birthday anniversary.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director-General of Press Affairs Government House Gombe, Sama’ila Uba Misilli, made available to newsmen in Gombe on Tuesday.
In a statement, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a towering figure in the Islamic world, known for his profound knowledge of the holy Quran, Hadith, and Fiqh, as well as his understanding of the deeper spiritual aspects of Sufism and Esoterics, which distinguished him as a spiritual guide par excellence.
“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s teachings have transcended generations, enriching the lives of countless individuals through his deep and insightful exegesis of the sacred Qur’an. Throughout his life, he has remained a pillar and moral compass in our society,” the governor remarked.
The NSGF Chairman commended the Tijjaniyya leader for his relentless commitment to nurturing moral and spiritual values, which he said have been instrumental in shaping the character and faith of his followers and offspring, as well as his immense role in fostering unity, peace, and religious tolerance.
“Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s centenary is not just a celebration of his life but a reaffirmation of the timeless values he embodies and the legacy built on the principles of integrity, humility, and piety.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to bless the Islamic cleric with good health and a long life to keep guiding the ummah.
