Gombe: INEC declares winners of Akko, Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituencies
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of the Akko and Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituencies in Gombe State.
Announcing the result in the Kumo community, Mr Mu’azu Mohammed, the returning officer for Akko Federal Constituency declared Usman Bello-Kumo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election and returned elected.
Mohammed said Bello-Kumo polled 42, 902 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aishatu Muhammad of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 37, 391 votes.
Also, Kawuwa Barambu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 1044 votes.

In Billiri, Mr Bayu Farouk, the returning officer of Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency declared Mr Ali Isa of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election in the Constituency having polled 46, 146 votes.
Victor Mela of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is the current lawmaker representing the Constituency, polled 28,251 votes to emerge first runner-up.
Joy Godobe of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 2205 votes.
Reacting to the result, Isa Ali said his victory was an opportunity to serve the people through good representation.
Ali commended INEC for improving on previous elections, adding that with Bimodal Voter Authentication System (BVAS), it had “proven that a common man has a say in governance.”
