Gospel Singer Denies Killing NYSC Member in Abuja Court
A gospel singer, Timothy Bamidele, has pleaded not guilty to the alleged murder of Salome Adaidu, a 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, during his arraignment at an Abuja High Court.
The prosecution accused Bamidele of causing Adaidu’s death in November 2023 under circumstances that have sparked public outrage. The incident reportedly occurred after a disagreement between the two, who were allegedly in a relationship.
In court, Bamidele maintained his innocence as his defense team argued for a fair trial, while the prosecution presented evidence linking him to the crime.
The presiding judge ordered his remand and scheduled the next hearing for February 12, 2025. Meanwhile, the deceased’s family has called for justice, urging authorities to ensure that the case is handled with transparency.
The case continues to draw public attention, as advocacy groups and citizens follow developments closely, demanding accountability for the killing of the young corps member.
