Gov. Buni gives car loan to 100 beneficiaries in Yobe
Yobe State government has procured 100 units of Toyota Avensis brand cars at a total cost of #461,125,000.00 to be offered on loan to 100 beneficiaries at a subsidized rate of #2 million each payable within a 2-year duration.
Governor Mai Mala Buni disclosed this while launching empowerment support to small and medium-scale enterprises at the Government House, Damaturu.
He said, empowerment support for businessmen, widows and vulnerable persons in our quest for economic empowerment, job creation and self-reliance for personal income generation for our citizens that is very dear to this administration.

“In the last three years, we have executed several empowerment and skill acquisition projects to fast track our recovery programme to enhance sustainable means of livelihood and the general economic advancement of our people and state.” Buni said.
He directed the Commissioner Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego to liaise with the Yobe Microfinance Bank to work out modalities for payment by the beneficiaries of this package.
“In furtherance of the humanitarian gesture of Buni’s administration, the government ddistributedsewing grinding and vulcanizing machines to the less privileged to improve their livelihood as well as empowerment package of cash support to 400 widows, 254 vulnerable persons and 1600 small and medium scale businessmen and women.
He reiterate the government’s commitment to continue promoting small and medium scale enterprises to uplift the lives of our people, therefore, he urged the beneficiaries of these welfare packages to reciprocate the kind gesture by the state government to ensure proper utilization.
