Gov Inuwa orders immediate dismantling of security checkpoints in Gombe

Governor Muhanmadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has directed that all security checkpoints within the state be immediately removed.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Meshack Audu Lauco, the Governor gave the order after due consultation with heads of security agencies in the State.

The statement, however, added that those checkpoints at the border with the neighbouring states shall remain in place and shall only be closed for vehicular movement from 12 midnight to 6am.
The government urged residents to cooperate with the directive in the interest of peace and security in the state.
