Group drums support for ex-comm. Wundi to contest for Bauchi South Senatorial seat

A group, Civil Society Unity Forum has thrown their weight behind former commissioner of youth affairs, Hon. Mahiru Maiwada Wundi to contest Bauchi South Senatorial seat by 2023 general elections.
The group also threatened to sue Maiwada Wundi if he failed to contest the Bauchi South Senatorial seat come to the 2023 general elections.
Alh. Abdulrahim Hamza, The Chairman of the group, while addressing the pressmen on Thursday, said that it was “not a matter of choice or interest” for the politician but an obligation for him to uplift and shape their communities.

Hamza said that they chose Wundi as their son and “we believe that every responsible child will listen and respect the interest of his people.
‘We have researched about you, spent our time, energy and resources to search for the right candidate and it turned out to be you.
“He does not need to spend his money, all we need from him is his acceptance and willingness to contest,” he said.
The group said that “we have engaged a human rights organisation and contacted our lawyers in case you decline this call. Our lawyers have told us that we could go ahead because we have the right to choose who represents us.”
Hamza said that he became their choice because of his track record as a member of both public and private sectors, a philanthropist and an educationist.
He said Wundi introduced empowerment programmes to women, youths and downtrodden members of Toro Local Government Area.
