The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board (KSPWB) says it will close collection of the 2022 hajj fare from intending pilgrims on May 12.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Mohammad Abba-Danbatta, said this while briefing newsmen on preparations for the 2022 hajj on Thursday in Kano.

He said that the collection would come to a close because the hajj operations were getting closer.
Abba-Danbatta urged all intending pilgrims to complete payment of their hajj fares within seven days.
“The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has also given the sum of N2.5 million as tentative fare for the 2022 exercise as a result of rising dollar prices and increased tax revenue from Saudi Arabia and the airline.
“The board has at least 2,500 people who have contributed a portion of the Hajj funds and they would give priority to those who had initially deposited their money to the board”, he said
He advised people above the age of 65 to desist from trying to change their age, as the Saudi authorities would not allow them into the holy land.
