Hon. Umar Isah’s empowerment: Women in Tafa get food items, cash for Ramadan
Hon Umar Isah, a philanthropist and politician, on Thursday donated food items to some residents of Tafa LGA of Niger State as a way of assisting them to observe their Ramadan fast.
The event which took place at the Palace of Sabon Wuse District Head, saw the distribution of the food items to the beneficiaries across the 10 wards in the LGA.
Also, in addition to the distribution of the food items, each beneficiary which were cut across both Muslim and Christians faith were empowered with the sum of twenty thousand naira (N20,000) in order to facilitate their respective businesses.
Earlier in his remarks, the District Head of Sabon Wuse, Alhaji Adamu Bako commended the gesture of the philanthropist for the timely intervention by providing relief to the women in his Emirate.
Bako also recalled several kindness offered to his people by the young aspiring politician, including, payments of medical bills to patients in various hospitals, distribution of learning materials to schools, as well as youth empowerment initiatives,
The District Head wished him success in all his pursuits and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.
While delivering his speech, Hon Isah appreciated everyone for gracing the occasion as he promised to offer more benefitting initiatives to the people of Tafa LGA and the entire communities under Suleja Emirate.
“I’m happy for the turn-out here in Sabon Wuse, I equally thank everyone for coming to this event as we distributed these relief materials and some cash for our mothers to empower their respective businesses.
“We are determined to do more for our people in as much as what we are offering is being utilised effectively, however we have some more batches as we progress”.
The event also witnessed presentations of awards to Hon Umar Isah Jagba by Tafa Women Support Group and Chiroma Actions Group for Umar Jagaba.
The initiative is aimed at empowering 1,000 women across three local government areas of Suleja, Gurara and Tafa, while Gurara and Tafa local government areas are already covered, the programs will be round off in Suleja on Friday.
