Hotelier sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of OAU student, Timothy Adegoke

Dr Ramon Adedoyin, a prominent hotel owner, has been found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a former student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
The incident occurred between November 5 and 7, 2021, at the Hilton Honours Hotel in Ile-Ife.
Two of Adedoyin’s staff members, Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde, were also found guilty of the same offense and received the same sentence.
Chief Judge of Osun State and presiding Judge of the State High Court, Justice Adepele Ojo, delivered the judgment.
The court, relying on circumstantial evidence, concluded that Adegoke was killed while being a guest at Adedoyin’s hotel.

During the proceedings, Justice Adepele Ojo discharged and acquitted three of the staff members, while the sentencing for the seventh defendant is scheduled for Wednesday.
This decision follows pleas made by both the prosecution and defense counsels.
The verdict has sent shockwaves throughout the community as the murder of Timothy Adegoke has garnered significant attention and public interest.
