Initiate projects that ‘ll benefit host communities, corps members urged
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has enjoined corps members undergoing orientation course in Gombe State to add value to themselves, their places of primary assignment, including their host communities during their service year.
The Director Community Development Service and Special Projects, Hajiya Zainab Isah gave the charge on Friday when she visited NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada community of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Isah who commended the corps members for their good conduct so far, encouraged them to sustain the feat when they are posted for their primary assignments by executing viable projects in their host communities.

She ranked corps members and camp officials high at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State after observing the activities in camp.
Isah while addressing camp participants congratulated corps members on their successful mobilisation and deployment to Gombe State for the one year National service.
She maintained that, the camp was a regimented environment aimed at instilling discipline in corps members, so as to “breed a crop of dedicated, disciplined, Patriotic and patriotic young men and women for the good of the nation.”
Speaking on the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, the director, said every corps member must pass through the three-week Orientation Course, then to their places of Primary assignment which goes concurrently with the Community Development Service and finally, the winding up and passing-out.
She called on them to integrate with members of their host communities and identify their felt needs in order to leave landmarks.
She maintained that , Community Development Service enabled corps members to use their ingenuity and skills to make positive impacts in their host communities, adding that viable and well packaged project(s) might win an award ( Local Government, State Honours Award or the Presidential Honours Award).
Isah also encouraged corps members to learn vital information about Gombe State, adding that such would help strengthen the bond of unity and help tell the good stories about the uniqueness of Nigeria’s diversity.
