Int’l Youth Championship: Mailantarki Care FC pound Norway’s club Simensbråten 13-0
Mailantarki Care FC, on Sunday, continued their impressive run in Europe by securing another emphatic win against Simensbråten at the opening fixture of the 2024 edition of Norway Cup.
The tournament is the world’s oldest summer International Youth Championships.
This is contained in a press statement issued to journalists on Monday in Gombe by Adamu Usman Ahmed, Mailantarki Care FC’s media manager.
Ahmed said the match which was played at Kallabagen field in the City of Oslo saw Mailantarki Care FC whip their opponent 13-0.
He said that the recent recipient of the Dana Cup final ‘Best Player’ award Tijjani Mohammed produced a staggering display as he scored five goals against the Norwegian outfit, the ex Nigerian U-17 prolific forward slotted three before the break while firing twice toward the end of the encounter just to round off his sparkling performance with 3 assists.
“Another top performer in the encounter Armiyau Armiyau came second in the matchday scorers list with 2 goals while Auwal Abba, Ibrahim Sani, Abdullaziz MaiyadiIdris Ashiru scored one each.
“The one-way traffic encounter paved the way for the light boys’ center-backs Gaku Joshua and Abdullahi Sani to have their respective share of the goal-scoring spree fixture as Miko Dalha fired blank.
“Full-back Sean Schembri, Midfielders John Ishaya and Usman Muhammed combined in most duration of the encounter with beautiful sideways passes, flicks, loops, crosses to the joy of the spectors in the Kalbakken area of Oslo,” he said.
Up next for the Mailantarki boys is the second group stage game on Sunday against Osterøy FC at the Norway Cup centre field in Ekerberg.
