Jamil Gwamna’s, Lieutenants defect from APC Join NNPP In Gombe
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, an-ex Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Gombe State, who joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recently, Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has lost his closest political lieutenants to the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in the state.
The trio of Ibrahim Adamu (Uban Dawakin Gombe), Hon. Sani Garba Anaruwa and Auwal Chiburos joined the NNPP after meeting with the Party’s guber candidate, Hon. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki in Abuja.
Hon. Ibrahim was once Deputy local government Chairman and Special Assistant to Governor Dankwambo; Hon. Sani Garba Anaruwa was Gwamna’s Protocol, former Special Assistant to Governor Dankwambo and Gombe South 2019 state assembly aspirant while Auwal Chiburos was also a Special Assistant to Governor Dankwambo and presently the Northeast Chairman of the Coalition of Self Employers of Nigeria.
Recall that Gwamna who was the immediate past Managing Director (MD), of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) contested the PDP’s 2023 gubernatorial ticket in Gombe State and became the second runner-up to the party’s flagbearer, Muhammed Jibrin Barde.
He however returned to the APC and was immediately appointed as the Inuwa/Tinubu 2023 governorship campaign council in the state.
NNPP has been waxing stronger becoming the major opposition party in Gombe State.
Prominent party stalwarts and supporters from both the APC and PDP have been joining its fold ahead of the 2023 general election.
