Jan.15: Gombe deputy governor reiterates need for inclusion of other security agencies
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau has reiterated the importance of extending the remembrance day for fallen heroes to include all security agencies as against limiting it to one agency.
This is contained in a press statement issued to journalists in Gombe on Thursday by ASP Mahid Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state.
Abubalar quoted Jatau to have stated this in Gombe when the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Usman paid him a visit in his office on Wednesday.

Abubakar said that the deputy governor stated that with the positive contributions of the police and other security agencies in the fight against insurgencies and terrorism, it was imperative to ensure that other agencies’ fallen heroes were included in the Remembrance Day commemoration.
According to the statement, Jatau recognized the significant contributions made by various security agencies in the fight against insurgencies and terrorism, and emphasized the need to acknowledge their efforts.
Jatau congratulated CP Usman for his remarkable achievements while formally welcoming him to the state.
He commended the efforts of the police command specifically mentioning their swift response and apprehension of an 18-year-old young man who killed one Aisha Balori.
The spokesperson said that the deputy governor assured CP Usman and the command of the state government’s continued support to the command in the agency’s effort at maintaining internal security.
He also recognized the supporting role played by other agencies in maintaining law and order in Gombe State.
On his part, CP Usman expressed gratitude to the state government for the support rendered to the command, stressing the need for continued collaboration towards ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the state.
