JIBWIS commends Gov. Bala on security, peace initiatives in Bauchi
The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), has commended Gov. Bala Mohammed for the security and peace initiatives in Bauchi State.
JIBWIS is a society or movement established in Northern Nigeria to create awareness among the Muslim faithful, encourage strict adherence to the teachings of Islam and prohibit what is forbidden.
It is one of the largest Sunni societies in Nigeria, Chad, Ghana, Niger, and Cameroon

JIBWIS’s Deputy National Chairman, Council of Ulama II, Sheik Saidu Jingir, stated this at the inauguration of the annual Ramadan Fast Qur’anic recitation/commentary (Tafseer), on Saturday in Bauchi.
The association appreciated the governor for creating synergy with security agencies and providing enabling environment to enhance their operations.
“It is a good process that sustains peaceful coexistence in the state.
“Gov. Bala Mohammed, as the Chief Security Officer of the state, is collaborating with security agencies to sustain peace in the state,” he said.
Jingir said it was imperative for political, economic and community leaders to fear God and lead by example for peace, stability and tranquillity to thrive in the country.
While assuring continued support to the state government, Jingir described security as a collective responsibility and called for all stakeholders to contribute towards peacebuilding in the state.
The cleric also commended Mohammed for the allocation of a plot of land for the establishment of JIBWIS University in Toro LGA of the state.
In his remarks, Abdulrahaman Nuhu-Zaki, the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, lauded the association, especially for its peacebuilding campaign.
He reiterated the government’s readiness to work with faith-based organisations and other stakeholders to promote peaceful co-existence in the state.
