Kebbi Security Forces Eliminate Notorious Lakurawa Kingpin in Fierce Gun Battle
A notorious Lakurawa kingpin, Maigemu, has been neutralised in a joint operation by security operatives and vigilantes in Kebbi State.
According to a statement from the Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Alhaji AbdulRahman Usman Zagga, the operation took place on Thursday at Kuncin Baba in Arewa Local Government Area, a location known for its challenging terrain. The security forces engaged Maigemu in an intense gunfight before successfully eliminating him.
This breakthrough comes just a week after Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, visited the Bagiza and Rausa Kade communities to condole with residents over the killing of six people by suspected Lakurawa cattle rustlers.
Governor Idris’ proactive stance on security is credited with yielding results, as the body of the neutralised kingpin has been deposited at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital as evidence.
Zagga urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing intelligence and reporting suspicious activities to ensure lasting peace in the state.
