KFP Condemns Kawuri Attacks, Calls for Increased Vigilance, Collaboration in Fight Against Insurgency
President Kalthum Foundation for Peace (KFP) Ambassador Ummu Kalthum has emphasized the need for increased vigilance and collaboration between security agencies, locals, and civil society organizations in the fight against insurgency.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Theatre Commander Northeast Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Wahid Shuaibu, at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, Ambassador Kalthum condemned the recent Kawuri suicide bomb attack and stressed the importance of collective action in preventing such incidents.
“We must work together to ensure that our communities are safe and secure,” Ambassador Kalthum said. “We cannot afford to let our guard down, and we must continue to support each other in this fight.”

Ambassador Kalthum also expressed gratitude for the support and collaboration received from the military since 2015 and reaffirmed KFP’s commitment to working towards a permanent cessation of hostilities between the government and armed groups. She commended Major General Shuaibu for his exceptional leadership, saying, “Your leadership has been instrumental in the successes achieved by the troops, and we commend you for your tireless efforts in leading the fight against insurgency.”
She highlighted the success of KFP’s medical outreach program in three villages in Borno, which has received commendation from the Ministry of Health and the Primary Healthcare Board.
The Theatre Commander, Major General Wahid Shuaibu assured KFP of continuous support from the military, acknowledging the importance of non-kinetic activities in the fight against insurgency.
The meeting underscored the ongoing partnership between KFP and the military in promoting peace and stability in the region.
