Kogi State Assembly Impeaches Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Muhammad has been impeached.
Northeast Star learned that Rt. Hon. Ahmed Muhammed (Akpa 1 Constituency) was impeached during an Emergency sitting held at the State Assembly complex in Lokoja.
He was accused alongside 3 other principal officers of gross misconduct and arbitrary use of the office.
In a motion of urgent importance read by Hon. Enema Paul, member representing (Dekina/Okura) State Constituency, said 17 lawmakers signed the impeachment of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed and the suspension of three other principal officers in the house.
The Three principal leaders are; Bello Hassan Balogun (Majority Leader), Idris Ndako (Deputy Majority Leader), and Hon. Edoko Moses Ododo (Chief Whip).
The Assembly complex was heavily guarded and surrounded by Police, DSS and NSCDC officers.
