The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) on Saturday, marked a major milestone as the association celebrated the one-year anniversary of Mrs. Mariya Lagbaja’s tenure as President.
The event, themed “Journey So Far: Next Level,” was held at the Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess 1, Asokoro, Abuja.
In his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, praised NAOWA’s achievements under Mrs. Lagbaja’s leadership, noting that the association has made significant strides in improving the lives of its members and the wider community. He commended Mrs. Lagbaja for her visionary leadership and dedication to the association’s mission.
Mrs. Lagbaja, in her address, expressed her gratitude to God and the members of NAOWA for their support and cooperation over the past year. She highlighted the association’s numerous humanitarian activities and initiatives, which have had a positive impact on the lives of many. She also announced plans for upcoming projects, including the commissioning of a modernized national secretariat, event center, and recreational park.
The event was attended by dignitaries from various sectors of society, Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters, members of NAOWA and NASWA, and staff and students of NAOWA Schools in Abuja. The ceremony featured the launch of NAOWA President’s “Next Level Transformation Initiative” and the cutting of the one-year anniversary cake.
The celebration marked a significant milestone in NAOWA’s history and demonstrated the association’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of its members and the wider community.
