Maximise your potentials while in Gombe, Gov. Yahaya tells corps members
Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has urged corps members posted to the state to seize the opportunity of serving in the state to maximise their potentials towards becoming self-sufficient entrepreneurs.
Yahaya made the call on Tuesday while declaring open the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation exercise at the temporary orientation camp in Amada community of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Represented by his commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Inuwa Ibrahim, Yahaya stated that the state had all that corps members needed in terms of business environment for them to achieve their potentials in life.

According to him, the state has a lot of potentials in business and entrepreneurship that they could harness to make themselves employers of labour.
“Gombe is a cosmopolitan state known for its promotion of peace and harmony, business and enterprise with rich cultural diversity and abundant agriculture produce.
“The above has helped in promoting business ideas for anyone who wants to settle and make a living while contributing to the growth and development of the state and country.
“Welcome to Gombe State, we are peaceful and receptive in nature.
“As youth, you have an enabling environment to maximise your potentials and achieve your dreams in life.”
The governor also urged them to seize the opportunity of serving in the state to strengthen the bond of unity in the state and the country.
“Be reminded that the future of the country lies in your hand as leaders of tomorrow, so you have a great role to play in shaping our corporate destiny.
“So endeavour to promote peaceful coexistence irrespective of the cultural diversity existing in the state.”
The governor assured the corps members of their safety throughout their stay in the state.
“Gombe State is peaceful so be rest assured that your safety, security and wellbeing is a top priority of the state government.”
On his part, Mr Dawut Jidda, the state NYSC Coordinator, congratulated the corps members on their successful graduation while urging them to embrace the service year with commitment and dedication to national unity.
Jidda assured the corps members that the NYSC in collaboration with the state government had put measures in place to ensure a successful service year.
“Let me at this point reassure you that, the government and good people of Gombe State are very peaceful and hospitable.
“I also wish to assure you that, the State Government has put in place necessary measures to ensure your safety, welfare and general well-being during the service year,” he said.
The state coordinator while commending the Gombe State government for its support so far in ensuring the success of activities of the scheme in the state, appealed for more supports in the area of water supply to the camp.
Our correspondent reports that 1,487 2023 Batch “C” Stream I corps members were sworn-in for their orientation exercise at the camp.
