MNJTF Honors Fallen Heroes with Compensation at Ceremonies in Cameroon, Nigeria

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has honored the bravery and sacrifice of its soldiers who were killed or wounded in action during Operation Lake Sanity 2.
Major General Ibrahim Ali, Force Commander of MNJTF, presented token compensation to the families of fallen heroes and wounded soldiers in Mora, Cameroon, and Maiduguri, Nigeria, on October 11 and 12, 2024.
The compensation ceremony in Mora, Cameroon, began with a moment of silence for the fallen heroes, requested by Colonel Tookap Pierre Loti, Commander Sector 1. He honored the soldiers as “heroes and valiant martyrs.” Major General Ali then presented the compensation tokens to the beneficiaries, acknowledging the heavy price paid for freedom.
In Maiduguri, Nigeria, Brigadier General Mohammed Babayo, Commander Sector 3, extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families. He acknowledged that the supreme sacrifice cannot be compensated enough but expressed gratitude for the gesture to support the families during difficult periods. The ceremony included the presentation of compensation tokens to beneficiaries by Major General Ali, alongside other senior officers, including Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Waidi Shaibu.
General Ali praised the troops for their relentless pursuit of peace and stability in the Lake Chad Basin region. He encouraged the families to take solace in knowing their loved ones died with honor, contributing to regional stability. The FC also commended wounded soldiers for their bravery, pledging MNJTF’s unwavering support for their recovery and reaffirming the force’s commitment to eradicating Boko Haram terrorists.
The bereaved families, led by Mrs. Afusat Abubakar, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. The MNJTF’s dedication to honoring its troops’ sacrifices while securing peace in the Lake Chad Basin region was highlighted through these events.
