MNJTF Troops Neutralize Boko Haram Threat in Sector 3 Operation – Nigeria

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has continued to demonstrate dedication to eliminating the threat of Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin region.
In a recent clearance operation, troops from Sector 3 (5 Brigade) Nigeria carried out a successful clearance operation on February 25, 2024, bringing a significant blow to the terrorist group.
The operation according to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief of Military Public Information, was prompted by intelligence reports pointing to the presence of Boko Haram terrorists near Alayi Bulanti in the Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

Deployed from their base in Damasak, the brave troops embarked on a fighting patrol that led them into a direct confrontation with the insurgents.
During the engagement, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, resulting in the successful subduing of the threat. As a result of their decisive action, the troops were able to recover a cache of terrorist weaponry, including 2 AK-47 rifles, 5 magazines, and a total of 73 rounds of 7.62mm Special Ammunition.
The Force Commander Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, lauded the troops of Sector 3 for their valor and urged them to maintain their steadfastness in eradicating terrorist elements from their operational area. He also expressed gratitude to the local communities for their ongoing support in the fight against terrorism.
The successful operation serves as a testament to the MNJTF’s commitment to ensuring peace and security in the region, and highlights the dedication of the troops in combating the menace of terrorism.
