The Nigerian Army (NA) has celebrated its veterans in a special get-together session in Jos, Plateau State, as part of its 161st-anniversary celebrations.
The event, aimed at fostering camaraderie and gratitude, was attended by former Chief of Army and Defence Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai (rtd), and other dignitaries.
General Agwai praised the veterans for their selfless service and urged them to sustain their relationships and support those in service. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, noted that the event honors NA veterans who served and sacrificed for the nation’s security and sovereignty.
The COAS emphasized that the veterans are the strength and fortitude that carry Nigeria through challenging times and acknowledged their service in various conflicts and peace support operations. The event featured cultural displays, presentations, and souvenirs to deserving retired officers and soldiers.
This celebration demonstrates the Nigerian Army’s appreciation for its veterans and commitment to recognizing their contributions to national security.
