NAF Enhances Project Management and Security Measures at Air Bases

In a move to strengthen project management practices and bolster security measures at Nigerian Air Bases, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has urged for the implementation of proactive security measures to safeguard Nigerian Air Forces Bases and facilities across the nation. This initiative not only prioritizes the safety of personnel but also reinforces national security efforts.
The call to action was made during the Air Base construction and security workshop held in Abuja on Thursday. The workshop, themed “Optimizing Air Base Security through Cost-Effective Construction Management for the Nigerian Air Force,” aimed to elevate the security standards at Air Force installations nationwide.

Represented by the Chief of Aircraft Engineering, AVM Pius Oahimire, the Air Chief emphasized the importance of enhancing security measures to ensure the safety and protection of personnel and critical assets within the Nigerian Air Force.
“Recognising the immense importance of ensuring the safety and efficiency of our air bases in an era where security threats are dynamic and multifaceted, it is imperative that we adopt a proactive approach to safeguarding our installations.” he noted.
The Air chief stated further that, this must be done in a manner that is both effective and sustainable, while leveraging on the latest advancement in security technologies to bolster the nation’s defence while also exploring alternative solutions that offer the greatest value.
Speaking earlier, the coordinator of the project implementation team, AVM Babatunde Philips highlighted that the workshop is a continuation of the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to promoting excellence in project management and security implementation. The gathering brought together a diverse group of professionals, including engineers, security experts, and project managers, to collaborate on optimizing resources and strengthening the security posture of Air Force bases.
The workshop served as a platform for participants to share insights, exchange best practices, and strategize on improving security measures through cost-effective construction management techniques. The concerted efforts of all stakeholders involved aim to enhance the overall security landscape of Nigerian Air Bases and facilities.
With a focus on fostering excellence in project management and security implementation, the Nigerian Air Force remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety and security for its personnel and the nation as a whole.
