Ndume renders free-eye surgeries to 1,000 Borno constituents

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, in collaboration with the Borno state government and Saudi Arabian philanthropists, has rendered free eye surgeries to over 1,000 constituents in the state.
According to Ndume, the medical-eye outreach was to provide cataract eye surgeries and treatments, including the distribution of eyeglasses.
Flagging off the free eye surgeries yesterday at the Maiduguri Eye Hospital (MAIH), the Director General on Media to Sen. Ndume, Junaid Maiva, stated, “The coordinated free-eye surgeries for cataracts seek to address problems of eyesight among the elderly const constituents in the Borno Souh Senatorial district.
He lamented. that over 350,000 residents are suffering from diseases associated with vision impairments.
Ndume, representing the Borno South Senatorial District, noted that this informed him to partner with Saudi Arabian philanthropists and the State’s Ministry of Health and Social Services in addressing eye-related diseases and impairments in the entire state. The beneficiaries, including Abubakar Isa, Hajiya Asma’u Yakubu, Rebecca Ali, and other constituents, expressed their gratitude to the federal legislator and Governor Babagana Zulum for their interventions in restoring their lost sights.
“The restoration of eyesight will enable us to contribute our quotas in the development of communities in the state,” said Rebecca.
