NEDC assures timely completion of ongoing projects in Gombe
The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has assured timely completion of all ongoing projects in Gombe State for the benefit of the people.
The Chairman of the NEDC board, Maj. Gen. Paul Tarfa (rtd), gave the assurance in Gombe when he led members of the commission’s board to inspect ongoing projects being executed by NEDC in the state.
Tarfa while speaking at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe where the commission is constructing a modern traumatic centre said the essence of their visit was to inspect ongoing projects in the state and see areas that needed further intervention.

He stated that projects being executed in the state would greatly improve the wellbeing of the people of the state, hence, “we will ensure timely completion so that the people can start enjoying the projects.”
“Gombe is one of the nerve centres of the Northeast; all the problems we have in Gombe State exist in Borno and other states.
“So we came to see what is on the ground, what we have started especially the projects to see to their completion within time.
“We are also here to ensure that when these projects are finished they are maintained and effectively used for the benefits of the people.
Also speaking on the request made to the board by Dr Yusuf Abdullahi, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe (FTHG), Mr Mohammed Alkali, the managing director of NEDC assured that the commission would intervene to ensure that the good people of Gombe State enjoy good healthcare.
Abdullahi while conducting members of the board round the ongoing project commended NEDC for its unrelenting interventions towards ensuring that the hospital was upgraded to provide quality healthcare to the people of Gombe State and other patients from neighbouring states of the Northeast who patronise their facilities and services.
The CMD described NEDC intervention as timely and a good step towards the improvement of the health sector in the state.
The board members also inspected the ongoing construction of a mega hostel for students of Government Secondary School, Dadinkowa, a housing unit in Gombe as well as the NEDC state office.
