NEDC builds an auditorium to boost STEM in Yobe

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has commenced the construction of an auditorium to boost sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in Yobe colleges.
According to the commission, the state-of-the-art auditorium and hall is sited at the Government Girls Unity College, Damaturu.
The Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Dr. Garba Iliya, disclosed this on Friday in Damaturu while inspecting the levels of completing the auditorium project. “I am satisfied with the stages of completing the STEM hall project,* stating the contractor should complete the auditorium according to the agreed terms of the contract.
He noted that the completion of the educational project will ensure peace, unity, and development in the Northeast region.The Commission’s Project Coordinator, Prof. Ali Abbas, assured that the execution of projects in the education, agriculture, and infrastructural facilities sectors will boost food security and restoration of livelihoods in the region. Besides the auditorium, he said,
“The Commission’s mega schools, comprising classrooms and academic blocks, are to be equipped for effective and efficient teaching,” as well as the training and re-training of over 30,000 teachers from the six states of the region.
