Following Vice President Osibanjo’s declaration to vie the post of president in 2023, a new APC Chairman, Adamu Abdullahi has resigned from the Nigerian Senate.
He was the Senator representing Nasarawa West in the 9th Senate up until his resignation on Tuesday.
Our Nigeria News also gathered that Senator Abubakar Kyari has also resigned his position as the lawmaker representing Borno North.
This is due to their emergence as executives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the party’s national convention on March 26th.
Adamu’s resignation from the senate is coming barely 24 hours after Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo declared to run for President in 2023.
Their resignations were stated in letters read on the floor of the red chamber by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday.
