The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has concluded preparations for its eagerly anticipated Year 2023 Annual 10 Kilometers Walk/Jog Exercise, aimed at promoting the physical fitness of its personnel.
The exercise is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at 6:00 am, not only in Abuja but also in various NAF Bases across the nation.
In a statement Friday, Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said, Abuja will serve as the starting point for this invigorating event, with participants gathering at the NAF Base, Asokoro Football Field. From there, they will embark on a scenic route that will take them on a journey from the Defence Headquarters Roundabout to Keffi Road/Kugo Furniture And Pedestrian Bridge – Army Checkpoint Kugbo. Finally, they will make their way back to the base through the NAF Valley Second Gate.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise, Gabkwet said, partial traffic restrictions will be implemented along the designated routes. Similarly, similar exercises held in other locations nationwide will encompass major routes surrounding NAF Bases and their neighboring areas. The utmost priority has been placed on safety, and all necessary measures have been put in place to guarantee a seamless and incident-free experience for participants.
Consequently, the Nigerian Air Force has urged the public, particularly motorists and residents in communities around AYA, Asokoro, and NAF Bases nationwide, to remain calm and carry on with their daily activities without any disruptions.
With the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to fostering physical fitness and well-being, the Annual 10-Kilometer Walk/Jog Exercise promises to be an exhilarating event that promotes a healthy lifestyle among its personnel while fostering a sense of camaraderie and community spirit.
