The Nigerian Army has taken a giant leap forward in enhancing its defence capabilities with the acquisition of two brand new Bell UH-1H helicopters.
The addition of these aircraft to the Army’s fleet is a major milestone in the development of the Nigerian Army Aviation’s capacity to provide air support to ground operations.
The helicopters were formally handed over to the Nigerian Army at a ceremony held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, while receiving the aircraft, praised the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance the defence capabilities of the armed forces.
The Nigerian Army has been working tirelessly to modernize its aviation portfolio, with a focus on integrating advanced training and unmanned operations across its fleet.
The addition of the Bell UH-1H helicopters is lauded as significant step forward in this endeavour, providing the Army with a much-needed aerial domain capability to support its ground operations.
