In a series of coordinated operations across Anambra, Oyo, and Katsina States, Nigerian Army troops have intercepted and neutralized notorious kidnap kingpins and terrorists, recovering arms and ammunition in the process.
In Anambra State, troops arrested two suspected IPOB/ESN members, Ifeanyi Godwin and Uche Onuoha, who were found with pump-action rifles, cartridges, and fetish objects. Preliminary investigations revealed their involvement in criminal activities and their connection to a hotel used as an IPOB/ESN operations base.
In Oyo State, troops raided the residence of a suspected kidnap kingpin, Bello Chikidawoje, recovering AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition. Efforts are underway to apprehend Chikidawoje and dismantle his criminal network.
In Katsina State, troops responded to a distress call and compelled terrorists to flee, recovering empty AK-47 magazines. In a separate operation, troops neutralized a terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition, preventing a potential attack on commuters.
These successful operations demonstrate the commitment of Nigerian security forces to combating criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of communities across the country. The military urges all Nigerians to continue supporting their troops to enhance their operational effectiveness.”
