Nigerians berate INEC over delay in PVCs distribution
By Jennifer S Kuwanta
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, no fewer than one hundred persons converged at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) national headquarters, Abuja to demand their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs).
The convergence of the crowd was necessitated by the commission’s delay and constant postponement to distribute PVCs to Nigerians who are warming up to exercise their franchise in the next year’s general elections.
In an interview with NORTHEASTSTAR, they expressed their displeasure over the action of the election umpire, accusing the commission of a careless attitude towards them and subjecting them to untold hardship.

One of them simply identified as Lolo said, “I have been at the INEC office since 8 am and it’s now 2 pm yet, I cannot get my PVC.”
Others who said they were at the INEC office from 4:30 am to their PVC lamented how they came from far suggesting that it should be distributed to them at their various wards.
A physically challenged young man, Musa, decried how he was not considered due to his condition, adding the security personnel was hostile to him and asked him to leave.
