Nigeria’s General Grema Awarded Guinea Bissau’s National Medal
Nigeria’s Brigadier General Al-hassan Muhammad Grema, and outgone Force Commander ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau has been conferred with the country’s National Order of Merit, Cooperation and Development Medal.

President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Úmaro Sissoco Embaló, on Thursday, performed the decoration at the Presidential Palace in Bissau.
Recall that the Nigerian pride was recently lauded by the Special Representative of the President of ECOWAS Commission in Guinea Bissau Professor Hamidou Boly for laying a hallmark foundation for the mission during a send-off dinner at Hala Hotel Restaurant in Bissau.
Professor Boly had also expressed ECOWAS’ gratitude to the FC for his effort in ensuring integration of the ECOWAS forces with the National Defence and Security Forces of the Republic of Guinea Bissau within the short period of the mission’s deployment.
He had further attributed the successes recorded by the mission to Gen Grema’s diplomatic approach and inter-personal relationship with the mission stakeholders. He said the FC has earned a good reputation for the mission in the eyes of Guinean people.
