NITDA TWG brainstorms towards driving technological advancement

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Gombe and Bauchi Technical Working Group has brainstormed on ways to drive technological advancement in their respective states.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NITDA, said the gathering would chart a course that would empower individuals and shape a brighter digital future for the two states and the nation at large.
Represented by Mr.Babajide Ajayi, Director, Zonal Office, Directorate NITDA, the country’s digital landscape was brimming with potential, waiting to be transformed into impactful solutions.
“ Through today’s conversations and partnerships, each connection forged, each idea shared, and each resource pooled becomes a stepping stone towards developing tailored IT solutions for our regions.”
According to him, the statewide stakeholders’ engagement programme held in Gombe and Bauchi in 2022 led to the establishment of the group, “This is our testament to our commitment to taking the collaboration to the next level.”
He said enhancing digital literacy and ensuring equitable access to technology were guiding principles in their quest for digitalisation.
He said the participants’ contributions would directly influence policy and legal frameworks that are responsive to the specific needs and opportunities of their regions.
“ By working together, we can cultivate a vibrant digital landscape that benefits all stakeholders,” he explained.
He urged the participants to embark on the journey with a renewed sense of hope” Let us be the architects of a future where opportunities are abundant, and every entrepreneur’s vision finds a productive ground to flourish,” he said.
In his welcome address earlier, Mr.Ahmed Mohammed representative of NITDA North East Zonal office Gombe urged the participants to foster an environment of open communication and productive collaboration that will contribute to the progress and development of the region.
According to him, North East region has unique challenges as well as opportunities, assuring that NITDA through its North East Zonal office is committed to working hand in hands with relevant stakeholders to mitigate the challenges and harness the opportunities for entrepreneur exploits.
In his goodwill message,Director General Bauchi state Bureau for Informatipn and Communicatipn Technology (BICT) Mr.Abdulmalik Usman said,Bauchi has made a significant strides in adopting information technology to enhance governance, education and economic development.
Also, the office has spearheaded several e-governance projects, including domain registration, website development, and implementation of a dashboard system for project monitoring.
