NLO Debut: MCFC appoints Ex-Kano Pillars, CHAN Eagles defender as Chief Coach
Following the acquisition of one of the slots of the Nationwide League One (NLO) that will see Mailantarki Care Football Club (MCFC) feature in the 2021/2022 season, the club’s Management has appointed Umar Zango former Kano Pillars and CHAN Eagles defender as the Chief Coach of the club.
This is coming shortly after MCFC was listed amongst the clubs to compete in the Nationwide League One (NLO).
This became possible as the fast-rising football club successfully bought a slot in the Nigeria third-tier league with effect from the upcoming 2021/2022 season which kicks off next Wednesday.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Gombe on Friday in a statement issued by Adamu Ahmed, the media officer of the club.
Ahmed stated that the feat was made possible by the untiring efforts of the Chief Executive Officer of Mailantarki Care Football Academy, Honourable Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki who he said was passionate about harnessing football to develop and empower youths.
“In just less than a year of existence, Mailantarki Care Sports Academy has taken the football industry by storm in terms of engaging in high-profile scouting programmes, partnering with top European clubs, succeeding in transferring some of its players to European clubs among others.
“The new experience will provide the best platform for the players to have a tough engagement which will bring the best out of the boys from the week in week out matches of the league season.”
Hon Khamisu Mailantarki is quoted to have said he was encouraged that his club had acquired one of the slots, noting that the NLO platform would provide his boys with the big opportunity to participate in frequency football activities that would build the players’ capacities in the course of achieving the best in their career development.
Mailantarki Care Football Club will begin its journey in the league away to former Niger State Super Cup winners Maikunkele United FC at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna before hosting Niger Tornadoes feeder team at Area 3 pitch the following week on Wednesday 23rd March.
