Northeast Star Magazine contributes in fight against terrorist – Amb. Buratai

Former Nigeria Chief of Army Staff Amb. Tukur Buratai has said, the Northeast Star Magazine has positively contributed in the fight against Boko Haram insurgence in the Northeast.
Buratai stated at the 2021 Northeast Star Magazine awards on Thursday in Yola.

He said that the Magazine have contributed a lot in the fight against insurgency in the region.
Buratai commended their courage displayed in their reportage.
According to him, the insurgence uses Nigeria media for propaganda and the magazine had done well in enlighten the public to understand.
In his remarks, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa said that the region have the capacity to lead the country as was bless with human and natural resources.
Fintiri who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Maxwell Gidado said “If we give one person the chance to lead this country from the North East, the issues of Boko Haram insurgency will be Wipeout completely within first tenure”, he said.
He commended Amb. Tukur Buratai for his contribution of having relative peace in the region and country at large.
Malam Hassan Gimba, Chairman Northeast Publishers Forum commended the awardees for their contributions for the development of the region and urged them to continue.
Gimba who is the guest speaker at the occasion said that North East has blessed with human, natural resources and has the capacity to produce the next President come 2023 for more development.
Gimba said that the region should henceforth mobilise and sensitise people on the fact that it is now its turn to produce the next president.

“From now till 2023, we must mobilise the North East to know that the presidency should come here. “Not for any personal gain but because taking Nigeria out of the woods has once more fallen on its shoulders.
“Another strong argument is that we have capable hands that can take this nation forward.
“We have them: those who will be fair to all and have the nation at heart; those who will give everyone their right; those who can turn around the fortunes of this nation and make it into the great nation that it was meant to be.
“But we should not mouth such agenda as slogans. We have to be deliberate in working for it and working towards it.
“We have to start by empowering ourselves. Those with the opportunity to empower people should do so; those empowered owe it as a duty to build up others”, he said.

Gimba further said that North East are the richest zone in the country.
According to him, exploration of the Mambila Plateau will reveal one of the most natural resources endowed areas of the world.
He added that, apart from that, their was many other natural resources that can turn any nation into an economic superpower if harnessed.
Our correspondent reports that some of the awardees include; Dr Mohammed Dikwa; Emir of Funakaye, Gombe state, Alhaji Mu’azu Muhammad III; Babangida Nguroje, former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives; Rev. Yakubu Pam, Executive Secretary National Christian Pilgrims Commission among others personality.
