NSCDC Edo appoints Okon as new Commandant
The new Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo Command, has appointed Mr Dan Okon as the new commandant, and assumed office in Benin on Thursday.
The reports gathered that Okon, until his posting to Edo, was the Commandant of the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the corps at the National Headquarters, Abuja.
Addressing personnel of the corps at the state command headquarters, shortly after taking over from his predecessor, Mr, Aniekan Udoeyop, he called for cooperation from the staff to enable him to succeed.

According to him, with cooperation, unity of purpose, determination and commitment, the command can save lives and reduce crimes in the state.
He however noted that the absence of personnel from duty posts would not be tolerated, and admonished the staff to be on the alert at all times.
Okon noted that with the security situation, especially banditry across the country, no security agency could afford to be complacent as Nigerians looked up to them for the protection of lives and property.
Newsmen reports that the former commandant who held sway from June 2021 till now has been redeployed to Zone E headquarters, Port Harcourt, as the Zonal Commandant.
