NSCDC Establishes 7 New Area Commands, 11 Divisions Across Kwara
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the creation of seven new Area Commands and 11 Divisions across Kwara State to enhance security operations and strengthen its presence in all 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
State Commandant, Umar Muhammed, revealed the development to the press in Ilorin on Monday, explaining that the new structure, approved by the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Audi, is designed to improve the corps’ operational efficiency and service delivery.
“This expansion is part of our ongoing efforts to fulfill our core mandates and improve our operational effectiveness,” said Muhammed. “It will also boost collaboration with local communities in combating crime.”
The newly established Area Commands are: Area I (Lafiagi), Area J (Oke-Oyi), Area K (Agbabiaka), Area L (Patigi), Area M (Kaiama), Area N (Share), and Area O (Ille-Mona).
Meanwhile, the 11 new divisions include Alagbado, Jebba, Kpada, Ilupeju, Shonga, Tsaragi, Oro, Bacita, Lade, Agbabiaka, and Amayo Divisions.
Muhammed confirmed that all the new commands and divisions have begun operations, urging public cooperation with security personnel to help eradicate criminal activity.
“We remain committed to ensuring that Kwara does not become a safe haven for criminals,” he added.
The creation of these new commands and divisions reflects the NSCDC’s dedication to enhancing security across the state and providing better service to the public.
