NUJ fecilitates with muslims over Eid-al-Fitr celebrations in Borno, Yobe

The Borno and Yobe state chapters of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have felicitated with Muslims over Eid-al-Fitr celebration in the two states.
According to the State Councils, the Muslims are to be always faithful to internalize the lessons learnt during the Ramadan fast.
Comrades Dauda Iliya and Rajab Mohammed in separate statements, yesterday (Friday), in Maiduguri and Damaturu, disclosed that the Muslims should use the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr to offer prayers for the full restoration of peace in insurgency affected states.

Iliya and Mohammed also noted that the sustenance of security and peace could ensure economic growth and developments in the two states.
They, therefore, urged the Muslim faithful to pray for the success of leaders by supporting them accordingly for their collective good to improve living conditions.
Iliya also called for ‘sober reflections and unity’ of the people, irrespective of their political and religious affiliations.
He enjoined the Muslim Ummah to continue to be their brother’s keepers, by imbibing the virtues of good neighborliness and peaceful coexistence among the various communities.
“This was exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him,” he said.
