Oyo CAN felicitates new Olubadan on ascension to throne
The Oyo State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has congratulated the new Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, on his ascension to the throne describing it as a great delight.
The Chairman, Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju, in a statement on Monday in Ibadan said his ascension to the throne was a sign of good things to come considering his intelligence and astute leadership.
“I, on behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, wish to heartily congratulate you on your selection and approval as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“Stepping into this enviable position is an exciting feat and we are delighted you have this great opportunity.
“It is our fervent belief that the dedication and ability that got you there will continue to serve you well as you move along the paths of dedication, justice and fairness.
“We are sure that with your skills, exposure and experience, you will exceed the expectations of your beloved subjects,” he said.
Akinyemiju also prayed that God would grant the new Olubadan the courage to surmount the challenges and enjoy the joy and peace his ascension to the throne would bring.
He also prayed that his reign in Ibadan land would be peaceful that everyone connected to him would be proud of him.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Seyi Makinde approved the appointment of Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan land on Feb. 14.
Balogun, 79, was a former senator and the next in line to the throne, according to the ancestral arrangement of Ibadan land. (NAN)
