Police arraign 25-year-old man for alleged stealing of roofing sheet
The police have on Tuesday, arraigned a 25-year-old man, Ajayi Kehinde at an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing an iron roofing sheets.
The defendant of no fixed address is standing trial on a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Elijah Adejare told the Court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence on April 22 at about 07:00 a.m. in Ado-Ekiti.

He alleged that the defendant and others at large stole three iron roofing sheets and one iron door valued at N120,000, belonging to the GSM Association of Fayose market.
Adejare said the offence contravened Section 302 (a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor asked the Court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Sunday Balogun, urged the court to grant his client bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.
The Magistrate, Mr Tomiwa Daramola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until June 6 for hearing.
